With EMBRACING OUR EMERGENCY, we offer you the opportunity to join a new cadre of regenerative leaders.

The course ran from April 28-May 29 2024, and is now available on demand! You will learn from legendary movement builders and courageous thinkers. You will reach a deeper understanding of the current state of the Earth and the global climate justice movement. You will access the practical tools, resources, networks, and visionary ideas you need to make productive, positive changes, right now, in your life and community.

During this regenerative leadership training, you will have the chance to develop your action plan for the next ten years. This will help you flourish and thrive, even if life becomes more difficult for many due to disruptions and shortages.

Most of us know the corporate-controlled mainstream media severely under-reports the reality of the worldwide ecological catastrophe we have unleashed. Most people remain disengaged and detached from what’s happening. This is understandable, as it seems overwhelming and out of anyone’s control.

Those of us who have the courage to face the situation constitute a vanguard. It is not easy, psychologically. But beyond the pain, there is truth. And in truth, there is power.

This culture has put future generations in peril in its quest for profit and endless unsustainable growth. We all know in our hearts that this system won't continue for too much longer. But we don't know what comes after it. People are unprepared for what is going to happen as we dive deeper into what our speaker Nate Hagens calls the "Great Simplification.” By joining EMBRACING OUR EMERGENCY, you will become an early adapter, not only confronting the negatives but also recognizing the new opportunities - for personal fulfillment, creativity, activism, and purpose-driven entrepreneurship - in this unprecedented time.

Since our institutions will not help us, we must take it upon ourselves to educate and prepare ourselves.

We have the capacity to find freedom, strength, and even joy in accepting what is, while we define a meaningful, active role for ourselves. Taking a spiritual perspective, we can see this time as a call for planetary initiation and an opportunity for each of us to undertake the archetypal hero’s journey.

Despite the huge forces at play, here is still a huge amount you can do for yourself, for your community, and for the Earth. Sometimes, times of crisis are actually the best times. Together, let’s embrace this precious opportunity to access our greatest potential.

PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE:

  • Interactive live sessions with legendary movement builders and courageous thinkers on how you can live and lead in a time of climate chaos.

  • Online community of people across the world building networks of resilient and regenerative practices

  • Special sessions to help emotionally process climate-related emotions with a community of peers

  • Option for “homework”: Creating your action plan for the future, based on a deep understanding of the underlying dynamics

The deepening ecological emergency has left many of us feeling bereft, lacking the drive and gumption we once had to enact local and systemic change. The forces arrayed against us seem too great. The time too short to redirect the productive forces of our civilization away from profit maximization toward long-term regenerative goals.

However, as we know from past examples, crisis also offers the greatest opportunity for awakening and rapid change. It is only when the old life is truly gone that a new life becomes possible, and then inevitable. Emergencies often bring out what is best in people, breaking apart old beliefs and judgments, forging unlikely alliances while catalyzing social and technical innovation that seemed impossible previously.

Over the next years, many people will awaken to the urgency of our situation. They will realize that the old systems and structures are broken, that they have been badly deceived by their leaders in politics, business, and media. Those who have prepared themselves properly for this time will step into leadership roles.

Some are calling the period ahead of us “The Great Simplification:” Life, for many, will get stripped down to essentials. Such a time also allows for great courage, commitment, compassion, cooperation, and inner growth.

Crisis is often the catalyst for inner transformation, the motivating factor that changes our lives for the better – when we embrace it. It can reveal our hidden strengths and unite communities in remarkable ways. We can hear the call of this time as an opportunity to undertake our own “hero’s journey”: An initiatory path of spiritual self-creation.

Emergency is always transformative…this course is about harnessing that transformation into something as meaningful and purposeful as possible.

This course is not just about understanding the ecological emergency; it's about integrating it as an initiatory journey for each of us and the human species collectively. Like the rites of passage in Indigenous cultures, this crisis offers us a chance to undergo, both individually and collectively, a transformative journey toward psychic wholeness.

This monotonous, shallow, consumerist civilization wasn’t making us happy anyway. What if the climate emergency is the key to unlock the emotional, political and spiritual revolution we know we need – that nags us, deep inside?

So we bring to you wisdom from the frontlines; from the courageous teachers and guides who have gone to the brink and transcended it.

In this course, we'll tap into the knowledge of those who've faced the abyss, transforming despair into resilience and forging community connections that empower us to navigate the climate crisis.

Join us as we turn this existential precipice into a call to living authentically in the now. Strip away inessentials, connect with what's real, and be a part of creating new structures and collaborations that satisfy both heart and mind.

Together, we can navigate this crisis and emerge with a renewed sense of purpose and openness toward the future, whatever it brings.

Enroll now and join a community ready to face this challenge head-on, as we transform grief into action and despair into love.

We explore the ecological emergency as an opportunity for self-actualization and community co-creation. By the end of the course, you will not only gain profound insights into the challenges ahead but also acquire invaluable tools to effectively navigate them.

Art, Fiction, Performance as Creative Responses to Emergency

Art can be a vehicle for expressing deep emotions, exploring new stories and mythologies, and helping us integrate and heal from what’s past. Artistic works such as books, songs, and films, as well as public performances, can inspire action, ignite awakening, and help marginalized voices to be heard. We will hear from artists from many disciplines who use their voice and talent to change social perceptions, sometimes leading to large-scale actions.

Healing the Trauma of Imperialist Modernity

The system of “Imperialist Modernity” or “Capitalist Modernity” that developed over the last five centuries was incredibly dynamic, ruthless, destructive, and unstable. As a result of rapid technological development, the ruling elites were able to exploit the Earth’s natural resources for profit, while dominating indigenous people and the poor. Although this system also created short-term benefits for many in terms of access to health care, increased life expectancy and consumerism, it left a huge amount of trauma, experienced as anxiety, depression, addiction, and so on. While a complete healing from the past is never possible, we need to do the ongoing work of addressing past traumas so we can build effective social movements. How do we best confront the shadow of collective trauma while moving toward unity?

Regenerative Culture, Self Reliance, and Personal Sovereignty

Explore regenerative practices and ways to become more self-reliant as practical responses to the climate crisis. Engaging in regenerative practices – from gardening to building mutual aid networks – can not only mitigate environmental damage but also promote personal well-being and community resilience. Learn from experts in the field and engage in discussions on the potential of regenerative practices to transform our relationship with the Earth.

Ecology, Social Inequality, and Systemic Change

Explore the connections between ecology, social justice, and inequality that reveal the need for systemic change. Engage with activists and scholars practicing unified visionary activism. We will discuss specific proposals such as the Universal Basic Income (UBI), debt jubilee, and progressive taxation as mechanisms for addressing social injustice and liberating the people to confront the ecological catastrophe with new initiatives and public works programs.

Initiation through Deep Ecology

Explore the spiritual dimensions of the emergency through deep ecology and new ontologies. The ecological destruction we are facing can make us more deeply aware of the precious interconnectivity of all life as well as the spiritual dimensions of nature. We can engage in practices that cultivate a sense of awe, reverence, and responsibility toward the Earth and one another. A new post-materialist philosophy of “monistic idealism” builds a bridge between indigenous cosmologies, regenerative practices, and postmodern rationalism.

Resilient Communities and Collective Action

Learn how communities around the world are reuniting to address environmental challenges and create regenerative solutions. Explore ways to build resilience in your own community and contribute to networks of regenerative practices, local economies, and inspired co-creation.
